Fenugreek is a plant that has been used in traditional medicine for centuries. It has been found to contain many compounds which can help improve male fertility and increase testosterone levels. Fenugreek's hormonal effects are not well-understood, but some evidence suggests it may increase testosterone levels. A study, which was published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition, found that participants who took fenugreek supplements had a significant increase in their testosterone levels. This is not the first study to suggest that fenugreek may have an effect on hormones. Previous studies have found that it can reduce blood sugar levels and cholesterol. A study published in the Journal of Medicinal Food found that participants who took Fenugreek supplements increased their testosterone levels by an average of 16%. The study was conducted on a group of healthy, young men who were given fenugreek supplements or a placebo for six weeks. The researchers found that the group given the supplement had significantly higher testosterone levels at week six than those in the placebo group, and this difference was still present at week 12. The University of Berkeley published another study where they found that fenugreek supplements lead to an 8.8% increase in testosterone levels for participants on average. The study was conducted on 20 males between 18 and 25 years old, and it was conducted over a period of 10 days. The results were published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism. The study found that the participants who took the fenugreek supplements had an increase of testosterone by 8.8% on average. Another found that the testosterone levels in the participants increased by approximately 25% after 12 weeks when they took 400mg of fenugreek extract daily. Another research published in the Journal of Allied Health concludes that taking Fenugreek supplements can increase testosterone levels by 12%. In the study, an average of 12% more testosterone was found in participants who took Fenugreek supplements for one week. In a 2017 study published in the International Journal of Medical Sciences, a 12-week study of 50 men, it was demonstrated that those who took a daily 500-mg fenugreek supplement that contained concentrated amounts of protodioscin experienced significant improvements in their testosterone levels. The study found that testosterone levels increased by up to 46% in 90% of the participants.
