Quick Temporary Chicken Run | Spring Chicken Update

Today we are putting up a temporary chicken run to get our chickens out of the barn. This will be the first time they have been out since last fall and the first time they will not be free ranging throughout the backyard. We are using a thick deer fencing to keep them in. We decided to have a large run for them so they will stay on our own property as well as to keep them from eating out of our vegetable gardens, our fruit bushes as well as eating the perennials. I have to admit, I do miss seeing them free ranging, but I love the fact our gardens are protected. We will be looking into cover crops for our chicken run. Until then we will be offering our chickens plenty of treats, as well as fodder.
