SCARCE VINTAGE CATS & ANTIQUE FEST | BUYING HIGH-END ANTIQUES

We have a rare opportunity to see rare items in this video! The passing of our antique dealer friend is bittersweet; she's sorely missed but her collections have come to this antique show as a final celebration of her joie de vivre. From black cats to antique advertising, she wanted to share her bounty with the vintage community, including items that haven't been on the market in decades.

We start at the show booth in West Palm Beach, Florida, where the variety of objects related to her themes astounds! Fans of felines find andirons, candy boxes, tobacco pouches, jewelry...you just have to see it to believe it. We buy a few trinkets in remembrance, and few to resell.

My neighbor does the same, and in a big way! In his booth, a pile of Victorian and early 1900s objects newly acquired include a $500 match holder, an ink bottle with a great graphic and pre-prohibition beer and whiskey glasses. But the real rarities are at his house, where beautiful 1880s tin signs, cigar boxes worth hundreds and two striking store displays from long, long ago are destined for a high-end collector's auction. Some are items not seen in 45 years of searching!

We feel great gratitude at our friend's beneficence, both for the opportunity to share in her collection, and in the chance to share these beautifully made, wonderfully kept scarcities with our viewers.
