The Williams Guard is a trapping guard for BJJ & MMA, also known as the Shoulder Pin, popularised by Shawn Williams & Neil Melanson respectively. The Williams Guard is set up off an overhook from closed guard; it can then be used to keep the opponent's posture broken while setting up chokes and submissions.

In the breakdown, we look at the setups for the three major attacks, the armbar, triangle choke and omoplata. Also, we look at the counters to the position and why it was removed from the 10th Planet system.
