Born in 1974 Pichushkin became obsessed with the game of Chess at a young age and as a child suffered a few traumatic head injuries which like most serial killers is possibly a direct link to his killings later on in his life. Wanting to out do his idle the Rostov ripper (Andrei Chikatilo) Alexander Pichushkin would mark off his kills on his most valuable possession, his Chess board.
