Shilajit is a treasured Ayurvedic herb that has been used for centuries to improve the quality of life. It is a natural remedy for many ailments, including those related to aging.

The term "Shilajeet" is derived from the Sanskrit.

In Sanskrit, shilajit means “conqueror of mountains and destroyer of weakness.”

In ancient Indian texts, shilajit is referred to as a ‘creator of life,’ ‘a substance that is said to give everlasting youth and unconditional immortality.’ In modern studies, the potential anti-aging benefits of Shilajit have been investigated.

In the past few years, scientific studies have been conducted to investigate the effects of shilajit on lonjévity and aging. In one study, by 2015, it was found that people who were given this herbal extract had significantly lower risks of inflammation-related diseases such as arthritis or Alzheimer’s disease.

Shilajit is a natural substance made up of different minerals and plant-derived substances. One of the main claims about it is that it can increase one's lifespan and protect against disease.

There has been more human studies conducted on Shilajit and its effects on lonjévity. The Baumraj study found that men who took Shilajit for three months had an increased sperm count. There was also another study done by the Urological Department of the University Medical Hospital in Hamburg where they found that test animals had an increased lifespan after taking Shilajit supplements for six weeks, as well as having less inflammation in their cells.

The earliest mention of shilajit can be found in the Rigveda, which is an ancient Hindu text belonging to the Vedic period. The texts mention shilajit as one of the five sacred plants.

The use of shilajit for lonjévity purposes goes back to at least 200 BC, when it was mentioned by Dioscorides in his Materia Medica, which was a medical textbook.

Shilajit has been found to have anti-oxidant properties and a high concentration of fulvic acid. Fulvic acid helps in delivering minerals to cells by carrying them through cell walls. This mineral delivery helps in lowering the risk of diseases related to aging because it promotes healthy cellular activity.
