Fire protection is second only to security for most people when they are looking to buy their safe. But how are we able to achieve the fire ratings we have? Well, why not show you?

Here at Liberty Safe, we use these, fireboards. Anyone who has worked in construction will notice they look just like sheetrock. They both belong to the drywall family and are made out of Gypsum, but fireboards are reinforced with glass fibers. Gypsum by itself is a fire-resistant material but adding those glass fibers adds increased strength and enhanced fire-resistant properties to the fireboard.

After your safe is built and painted, it moves along the line where our excellent workers cut and insert the fireboards in your safe. With more fireboards in your safe, the higher the fire rating. Liberty safes are fire rated between 30 minutes, for our Centurion 12, and 2.5 hours, for our Presidential series. We don’t keep it a secret either. When you open your safe, we have a sticker on the inside of the door telling you its fire rating and how many fireboards are in the walls and ceiling of your safe.

We have performed multiple torture tests on our safes to make sure they hold up to the industry standard. We have numerous testimonials from people about their Liberty safe surviving a house fire and saving their valuables, guns, and important documents. So, you don’t just have to take OUR word for it.
