Ocean worlds 1, We once thought oceans made our planet unique, but we’re now coming to realize that ‘ocean worlds’ are all around us. ocean planet, water world, aqua planet, or Surface Water planet, is a type of Terrestrial Planet that contains a substantial amount of water as hydrosphere on its surface or as a subsurface, often to the point of having no dry land The term ocean world is also used sometimes for astronomical bodies with an ocean composed of a different fluid or Liquid such as lava (the case of Io), ammonia (in a eutectic mixture with water, as is likely the case of Titan's inner ocean) or hydrocarbons like on Titan's surface (which could be the most abundant kind of Terrestrial Sea.
