I backed the Mr Carve M1 Optical Fiber Laser on #Kickstarter. Yeah I know, don't remind me! I have been looking for a entry level fiber laser that wouldn't break the bank, or cause a divorce. I was surfing on YouTube, and came across an ad for the M1, in a rare moment I click on it. I saw the price, and gathered the funds for launch day. Given the supply chain issues, labor shortages, and other manufacturing obstacles the project only managed to be about 1.5 months late to some of the customers. One of the major issues with this campaign was communication, Mr Carve had dismal communication to their backers. I made a number of post as well as others. Mine "should" arrive on 1/13/22, so I setup this stream.

With that out of the way. Again this is an entry level DPSS Optical Fiber laser that is 2W, that has a .0.2 engraving depth. I don't know how many passes that takes, or really anything about this laser. There are tons of unknowns, and the few videos that are out, really do not cover much. I will be in new waters with this laser, hopefully there will be a few people on this stream that can assist. The software seems to be a tailored (forked) version of #EZCad. Without knowing the speed, power, and frequency settings for metals will make this a challenging stream.

Specs -
M1 applies a 1064nm wavelength infrared pulse laser with ultra-strong etching capabilities. The electro-optic modulator (EOM) inside the laser head transforms the 2W continuous laser into a 15kw infrared pulse laser, which transmits 25000 frequencies for highly effective hard surface engraving.
