Less than a day after D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser claimed that students had to get vaccinated against COVID-19 or they would be forced to stay out of school with no other options for education, Washington D.C. has pivoted and is now delaying the implementation of the policy. 47% of black teens ages 12-15 are unvaccinated, meaning that they would have been unable to get an in-person education if the mandate stayed in place.
