Pearl White’s Last Visit to Missouri

Pearl White, Queen of the Serials, who was most famous for starring in “The Perils of Pauline,” was born in Greenridge, Missouri in 1889. From 1899 until 1907 she lived with her family in Springfield, Missouri. Those years, and her movie career are covered in Episodes 1 through 4. This episode covers her final visit to Missouri in 1927. From November 4 to November 9, Pearl spent time with family and visited her old haunts. I follow her footsteps from her mother’s grave in Greenridge, her hotel on Route 66 and the Electric Theater on the Springfield square, all of which still stand.
