Peaceful protesters march through Cape Town calling on the government to take urgent action to completely eradicate period poverty and enshrine menstrual rights into South African law. Given that August is Women’s month. The marches are a result of a collective movement between Gauteng-based Team Free Sanitary Pads, headed up by Menstrual Rights Activist Nokuzola Ndwandwe, and Cape-Town-based FemConnect, South Africa’s first SRHR tech platform and one-stop-shop for menstrual health support.
