Chicago Bears News & Rumors for Thursday, August 25, 2022 come from Bears Now host Harrison Graham just 2 days before the Bears 3rd NFL Preseason game against the Cleveland Browns! Below are today’s Chicago Bears storylines, but first pick up your FGB t-shirts at http://chatsports.com/FGB. If you HATE the Green Bay Packers, you’ll want to rep this tee.
- Denzel Mims requests trade from Jets: Will Bears GM Ryan Poles have interest in trading for the Jets' WR? Mims has dealt with some injuries during his 2 NFL seasons and his agent released a statement saying that "it's time" for Mims to get a "fresh start".
- Bears Injury Report: 12 players missed today’s Chicago Bears practice at Halas Hall including 4 WRs - N’Keal Harry, Byron Pringle, Tajae Sharpe and Velus Jones Jr. Khalil Herbert and Kyler Gordon returned to practice, but several players are unlikely to play in the Bears vs. Browns game this Saturday night according to Matt Eberflus.
- ESPN projects a breakout year for Cole Kmet. ESPN Fantasy Football Analyst Matt Bowen has high hopes for the Bears 3rd-year tight end as he called him his NFL “offseason sleeper”. Kmet is in line for a big role as he’s the most proven receiving weapon behind Darnell Mooney on the Bears offense. With veteran TE Jimmy Graham no longer on the Bears roster, Kmet should receive a lot of red zone targets as well.
- Teven Jenkins press conference: Jenkins spoke to Bears reporters today and talked about his “roller coaster” Bears training camp that included missing several practices with an undisclosed injury, hearing about NFL trade rumors, working with the 3rd string and 2nd string offense at right tackle to now moving his way up to the Bears starting right guard. Jenkins pointed to his “physicality” as a big reason why he’s been able to switch positions rather seamlessly. He says it’s all about “seizing an opportunity” and he feels like he’s done that.
