Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to a special PRERECORDED and EDITED episode of "Kyle Plays the Video Games"!

TONIGHT... DOOM Eternal, which is a video game about a man who is literally too angry to die and saves the Earth from an invasion by the forces of Hell and singlehandedly murders every demon in the universe to avenge the death of his pet bunny. Seriously, that's canon in the Doom lore. Its name was Daisy. It was a good bunny.

This is the second mission of the campaign, appropriately titled "Mission 2", wherein the DOOM Slayer, after DOOM Slaying the 1st of the 3 'Hell Priests' leading the demonic invasion of Earth, and mere moments away from DOOM Slaying the other 2 Hell Priests, is rudely interrupted by some weird alien bih called "The Khan Maykr". She..? It...? I’m not sure and I really don’t want to check- is the leader of the “Maykrs”- an alien race so ancient and powerful that they have transcended spelling itself. And apparently, they’re in cahoots with the Hell Priests and their whole ‘demonic invasion of Earth’ thing, for... “reasons”... So the Khan bih used her space magic ish to teleport the remaining 2 Hell Priests off to some secret hidey hole before the DOOM Slayer could properly DOOM Slay them, since she doesn’t want that because “reasons”. Or something.

Rude.

Undeterred, as ever, the Slayer opened a portal back to his headquarters, "The Fortress of DOOM" (yes, really) and casually walked away from the weird, annoying space bih- though not before she tried to tell him that "he must not interfere", because apparently Earth being invaded by demons is a "necessary" thing for- you guessed it: “reasons”. And just as the Slayer departed, she offered one particularly curious remark that may or may not definitely be some kind of foreshadowing thing:

"You cannot resist the will of the Maykrs- for it was you who was meant to enforce it."

Mysterious, indeed... I wonder if that obvious plot hook will ever show up again... (Hint: Yes.)

But do you think The DOOM Slayer got time for that shi? How about NO. He's in the DOOM Slaying business- and cousin, business is booming.

NOW... to discover where TF the 2 remaining Hell Priests ran off to, the Slayer must travel to Argent D'Nur, homeworld of The Sentinels, a stereotypically badass honorable warrior people who long battled the forces of Hell, and, legend has it, even fought alongside The Slayer himself at some unspecified time (foreshadowing intensifies). But that was long ago, before they were brought low by enemies without- and treachery within! Now, the once proud Sentinels of Argent D'Nur are a shadow of their former glory, their homeworld in ruins; their armies scattered; their honor stained.

F’s in the chat for The Sentinels.

But now, The Slayer must journey to the lost city of Exultia, once the capital of Argent D'Nur. Though it lies in ruins, there remains an ancient relic of Sentinel technology, The Celestial Locator- which is *not* just a ‘Space GPS’ (it totally is tho)- which The Slayer must acquire so that he may divine the secret location of the 2 remaining Hell Priests, as- unlike their late associate- their stupid heads remain attached to their equally stupid bodies.

And we can't have that.
