The school board in Uvalde in US' Texas voted unanimously to fire the school district's police chief for his much-criticised handling of the shooting rampage that killed 19 children and two teachers. Pete Arredondo is the first officer dismissed over the hesitant and fumbling law enforcement response to the May 24 tragedy. "Coward!" parents yelled as the meeting got underway.
