Community is a powerful expression of shared idea, shared passions and shared purpose. Leaders know how to identify and maximize a sense of community among those they lead.

It’s the synergy of shared ideas.
It’s the power of shared effort.
It’s the creativity of collaborative thinking.
It’s the hope of shared burdens.

Leaders should commit time, energy and resources to identify opportunities to develop, expand and nurture community among those they lead. More than the “sense” of community or the feel of community, leaders must foster true community. It’s one thing to feel connect with people like a “group” on social media, it’s another thing to have true friendship and relationships one can count on when tough times are chasing us down.
