Deputy, trooper killed in helicopter crash in rural Tennessee

A Marion County deputy and a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper were killed Tuesday when their helicopter hit a power line and crashed in a wooded area, authorities said. ABC News is reporting.

Some power lines reportedly fell onto Interstate 24, which was backed-up on Tuesday evening in the wake of the crash. I-24 East closed down temporarily while I-24 was reduced to one lane. Fox News reported.

witnesses say it was flying low and collided with major power lines next to I-24 near Aetna Mountain and the Nickajack Lake. WDEF reported.
