Are you doing what you love?

When I attended the #uofa I initially went to study photojournalism. Long story short, I graduated with a B.S. in Animal Sciences and joined the Border Patrol. I was attracted to photojournalism because it uses media to tell a story and brings light to injustices. I am also very patriotic which is what drew me to the #BorderPatrol. Growing up down here I knew about the border issues and how it affected our nation. I wanted to do my part to help fix those issues.

Two major passions of my life which are my faith in Jesus Christ and love of digital media drove me to become a Border Patrol #chaplain and start this multimedia company while I was an agent. With the recent changes to our nation and organization, I was starting to think I was as effective to my nation as a band aid to a gaping wound. That's not to say there still isn't heroic and vital work that is being accomplished by my brothers and sisters in green, but I believe I could be more affective by addressing the culture, which is at the root of our national security woes, through both ministry and this photo / video company, as the photojournalists did.
So this little project was for me. I don't really do many of those. It walks through some of my thinking regarding this career transition.
