Great Whites: THE MOMENT of CONSIDERATION Part 1

There is a simple formula that creates access to all success, riches, relationships and opportunity. The formula is ACTION = PERFORMANCE! That being said, there is really only one thing that gets in the way of our dream life every time. CONSIDERATION. More specifically, “THE MOMENT of CONSIDERATION.” In that one single moment, your life either moves forward or doesn’t.

“There’s a 10’ hammerhead right there where you were free-diving.” Dane turned around, and sure enough there it was a beautiful 10’ hammerhead shark right where had been just seconds before. “I want to jump back in!” He said, still wet from his dive.

What my son was experiencing was what we all experience. “THE MOMENT of CONSIDERATION.” In that “MOMENT of CONSIDERATION for all of us, the question is, will we jump or won’t we?

We all consider almost everything before we act. It’s a preservation tool humans develop over time and through experiences we’ve had, or others have related to us through experiences they’ve had.

Consideration in this circumstance might look like, “Cool a hammerhead! Humm…10’ is just a little bigger than me, although a classified ‘man-eater’ maybe not big enough to go after me. I’m in!” The next thing that might have happened might be Dane eagerly jumping back in.

However, “THE MOMENT OF CONSIDERATION,” and preservation, might look quite different if, after climbing onto the boat someone said, “Oh my gosh, do you see that? It’s a 20’ great white! You are so lucky man, and right where you were just diving!” That’s where “THE MOMENT OF CONSIDERATION,” preservation kicks in, and Dane opts out of another free dive with Jaws, and lives.

In the case of Jaws suddenly showing up, “THE MOMENT of CONSIDERATION” would be a culmination of everything Dane had seen on Shark Week over the past 34 years of life, and his “CONSIDERATION” might sound like, “Do not, under any circumstances jump back into that water!”

A cocktail rush of hormones would shoot up his spine, and warm his body from head to toe, as his near death experience would be lived as if he had, in his “MOMENT of CONSIDERATION,” in fact jumped back in, and encountered his 5000 lb. hungry new friend.

The “MOMENT of CONSIDERATION” has saved us countless times over the course of our lives, and arguably arises in us each and every day. That being said, our evolutionary skill has also limited modern people from huge opportunities, amazingly powerful relationships, fame and fortune.

More on “great whites, and mastering the “MOMENT of CONSIDERATION” in part 2…
