Dragons

Dragons are found in the myths and fiction of cultures all over the world though they are thought to be nothing more than fiction. However, many experts believe Biblical text paired with historical Roman accounts can prove dragons once coexisted alongside humans and may still exist to this day.
Although their origin is unclear, tales of dragons have been told for centuries in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and even Ancient Egypt. In Norse mythology, the Midgard Serpent, “Jormungandr”, was born of the trickster god Loki and fought the mighty Thor at Ragnarok, the end of the world.
Even the Bible refers to dragons and are mentioned some 28 times in the King James Version (Exodus 7:9, Deuteronomy 32:33, Job 30:29, Psalm 74:13, or Isaiah 51:9). Later translations may translate the same word “jackal”, “sea monster”, or “dragon” depending on the context. Additionally, often cited, is “livyathan”, or “Leviathan”, spoken often of in Job 41 but mentioned also in Psalm 104:26, and Isaiah 27:1.
The more common term mentioned in the Bible is drakon. Strong’s defines it as “a fabulous kind of serpent (perhaps as supposed to fascinate).” This word appears 13 times in the book of Revelation and is used to refer to Satan. This is a callback metaphor to Genesis 3:1 where the serpent approached Eve in the Garden of Eden.
