Typical EPC? The E.P. Carrillo La Historia Rothschild - CIGAR REVIEWS by CigarScore

Some cigar makers I like. Other cigar makers… well, let's just say I don't love their signature sauce. So, when it's time to review cigars like today's, the E.P. Carrillo La Historia Rothschild, I approach the review with open eyes, a clean palate, and cautious optimism.

The first thing you'll notice with just about any E.P. Carrillo cigar is the absolutely beautiful band. The EPC brand really puts a lot of attention to detail into the label on their cigars, and the La Historia is no exception.

After cutting the end with my guillotine, the draw was perfect. Once the La Historia was aflame, I tasted the signature EPC flavors that I taste in all of their cigars. Regarding the flavors, there was some fruitiness, potpourri, and acidic tastes that were similar to having drunk some red wine.

With a Sumatran binder and a Mexican San Andres wrapper, the E.P. Carrillo La Historia Rothschild has the makings of a delicious cigar, so let's dive in!

Through the middle of the cigar, I experienced a fairly uneven burn. At the point of removing the label from the La Historia, there was some excessive clue that stuck to the wrapper leave and caused it to tear. But, the draw remained pretty great.

Regarding the flavors, the La Historia I reviewed was very aromatic with fragrances of potpourri and cedar.

Final Thoughts

Well, my E.P. Carrillo La Historia Rothschild smoked for less than an hour and could cost you anywhere from $9-$12. This cigar also had some construction issues.

The flavors fluctuated between spicy and quite mild, almost bland. Overall, the cigar was just okay.

Because I think there are better cigars out there for the money (and similarly priced cigars that smoke for longer), the E.P. Carrillo La Historia Rothschild earns a CigarScore 3.
