The great news is that as a Florida condo unit owner or prospective buyer you do not have to purchase your own flood insurance. This is because the building will typically carry flood insurance if required, and oftentimes even if it isn't required, to cover the entire building. So the building will have flood insurance. It will typically have hazard insurance to cover the exterior, so you as an individual condo unit owner or buyer will only be responsible for the interior of your condo unit. You'll need to purchase an insurance policy called HO6 or a walls-in coverage policy to cover the interior of your apartment.
