Tetris (Game Boy Player Capture)

This is a capture of me playing Tetris for the Game Boy. This was played on my GameCube's Game Boy Player using progressive scan mode (you need the GameCube's component cables for that and your model of GameCube must support component out as well). I'm playing Mode A and starting at Level 0.

I received Tetris as a pack-in with my original model Game Boy for Christmas of 1990. I later sold my Game Boy when I received a Game Boy Color for Christmas of 1998, but I held onto Tetris since it's a good game.

I didn't play puzzle games that much as a kid (at least not by myself), but my mother and some of her friends loved these types of games, so I would do multiplayer with them whenever I got the chance. My brother and my cousin also received their own Game Boys back in 1990, so we spent that Christmas doing two-player battles with the included link cables. It was a lot of fun (my mother and my other cousins also joined in).

I'm no Tetris expert, but I can get past Level 9 fairly often. In this video I made it to Level 15 and then lost. I think this is the furthest I've ever gone in this game.

Recorded with the Hauppauge HD PVR and the GameCube's component cables at a native 60 frames per second. I'm using an original model Game Boy Advance as a controller by way of the Game Boy Advance/GameCube Link Cable.
