Overturning Roe was a victory, but it’s only the end of a beginning.

When the Supreme Court overturned Roe, it didn’t do anything except give states permission to “decide” on abortion. Each state is no longer forced to accept abortion on demand. It’s up to the states to “decide.”

Overturning Roe was a victory, but it’s only the end of a beginning. Now the real work begins. States should not be deciding whether innocent children live or die. Democracy should not get to vote on whether a child is killed in the womb or not. Each of us, born or preborn, has a fundamental right to life, a right protected by the U.S. Constitution. Our fight to protect the human rights of ALL is just beginning in the Legislature and, in many ways, in the judiciary. We need state and federal protections for the preborn that safeguard their inherent human right to life.
