Pope Francis makes his first public comments to calm tensions between
the Nicaraguan government and Catholic church. Stefano Pozzebon, Bogota, Colombia: Churchgoers in Nicaragua are praying for the health and the well-being of Monsignor Rolando Alvarez. The bishop of Matagalpa in Nicaragua who has been taken into custody on Friday, after almost two weeks standoff with the Nicaraguan police.
