Let’s talk immigration for a moment; legal immigration of Filipinos to the United States, in particular how long it can take for preference relatives like siblings and Derivative Visas for a spouse and child. Please subscribe to Love Beyond The Sea where I normally talk about marriage related issues and westerner-Filipina relationships, and this is a deviation from that, but it still is about relationships and love.

If you are or become married to a Filipina, a woman from the Philippines, she may decide that she wants to petition a sibling, and have in mind to have that sibling later procure a green card then petition their wife and children to come to America, or the country you reside in. So, this may be something you need to discuss with your wife.

It is a very long-term goal that she likely is willing to wait as long as it takes in order to help her family have a better life. I want to talk today about that long wait and what if anything, I could do to shorten it, starting with calling on my state senator.

I am very interested in knowing how long it took. At the conclusion of this video, I will read you a letter that I have written to a state senator to see if there is a way that something could be done to speed up this process.
