In the previous 3 episodes of the series, "Is that a truth?", we gave you 9 space stories that took the imagination of people by storm but actually, the stories were fake. In today's episode, we will give you 3 more such stories.

#10. Mars is coming.
In 2003, a story erupted that enthralled people from all walks of life. According to that story, "Mars will come very close to Earth." The last time Mars was so close to earth was 60,000 years back". The unconfirmed story made a further claim that Mars will appear as large as the moon in the night sky.

As the story made rounds on social media, more and more people got curious to know about the date on which that incredible sight can be seen.

The curiosity of the people was soon shattered when the explanations by NASA and other space agencies debunked the news. There is no way Mars can appear so large in the sky. There are times when Mars comes near to Earth but considering the cosmic distances, it will appear like a red dot. The only way it can be seen better during that time is by using a telescope.

#11. The Green Moon.
In 2016, one more piece of news started to make rounds almost everywhere. According to that news, The Moon will appear green on April 20 and again on May 29 because of a rare alignment of the planets". The rumor also claimed that the moon has turned green before in 1596.

In 2016, social media was accessible to a large number of people, as a result, the news spread like a wildfire. On April 20, Moon rose in its normal avatar as a result the green-moon rumor was auto-debunked.

#12. Earth will be dark for 14 days.

In July 2015, A News article appeared on a website known as News Watch 33. The article said that the Earth will go into the dark for 2 weeks. Many people didn't know at that time that News Watch 33 is a fake news portal. Its claims have been debunked by many other websites like "Snopes dot com".
Before people could even realize that it is fake news, it was remade by many YouTubers and digital content creators and shared on their social media channels.
The Truth is that the Earth has never been dark. Even during the full lunar eclipse, the earth never goes completely dark. It took some time before the people realized that the "dark earth period", is just a hoax.
