After cutting through the cap of the Alec Bradley Medalist, the cold draw was fantastic and offered up hints of very sweet honey. Once the cigar was lit, the aroma of the smoke was like that of bread and it was almost doughy. After lighting the cigar, that doughy aroma reminded me of sourdough bread.

During the first few minutes with the cigar, the Alec Bradley Medalist Toro was very smooth and it had a great flavor to it. Also, visually, the Medalist looks very much like an Atabey cigar, and that's likely due to both having a Costa Rican wrapper leaf.

Through the middle of my time with the Alec Bradley Medalist Toro, the flavors were good. I tasted creaminess that, when paired with coffee, was almost like a vanilla latte.

Despite having to retorch the cigar to even up the burn, the draw was good, and the burn did even quite a bit in the final third.

Final Thoughts

For the most part, the Alec Bradley Medalist Toro is a good cigar. Despite having a slight burn issue, the Medalist was quite enjoyable. Plus it comes in at a great price.

The flavors were light and occasionally sweet with hints of vanilla. And, overall, I really enjoyed the 75 minutes I got to spend with this cigar. The Alec Bradley Medalist Toro earns a CigarScore 4.
