Today we continue our series of blind cigar reviews, where our goal is to provide you with a totally objective, completely neutral review of a cigar. Ellory went into this review completely blind; that means without knowing what it is, who made it, how much it costs, or what’s in it. To see the entire series of blind cigar reviews, click here.

The J. London Gold Series Queens Guard is a short cigar among short cigars. The problem with cigars that are tiny like this Queens Guard is that they really have to deliver an amazing experience for them to be worth the money. So, here we go!

The J. London Gold Series Queens Guard is a good-looking cigar, but not a perfect one. It looks a little rustic, and the wrapper leaf isn’t perfectly smooth.

With a guillotine cut, the cold draw was a little bit tight but offered flavors that were sweet and cinnamony. With a torch, the flavors came to life and were quite good. In the first few puffs, the J. London Gold Series Queens Guard reminded me of a Drew Estate Undercrown Shade, but with some additional spice and citrus flavors.

Final Thoughts

At about 28 minutes, the J. London Gold Series Queens Guard was about to burn my fingers. I liked the cigar, but I didn’t like that it smoked for less than 30 minutes.

Overall, the flavors were really good and I enjoyed the little time I had with this tiny cigar. And, while I’d have liked this one to smoke for longer, it does come in at a reasonable price point for its size. So, the J. London Gold Series Queens Guard was enjoyable and earns a CigarScore 5.
