Saints Row 2 (PC) "Burning down the house" Mission Ending Crash - How to Avoid (see description)

During the "Burning down the house" mission, the last part requires you to take out a final technician that is escaping by car. You exit the last door of the level to trigger the cut-scene of them escaping.

Before you open that door, have in your inventory equipped the satchel charges, so you can begin throwing them at the car that will be used for the final enemy's escape.

What will happen to most players when playing on the PC version (and apparently even console versions), is the game will crash after the final enemy is taken out and the final cut-scene for the level would be loaded. Apparently it's an issue with particle effects and the game not liking having to deal with them when exiting a mission.

I have Gentleman of the Row installed and with it's various fixes (that normal patches have not addressed), even that still did not help my situation with this mission crashing over and over again.

On the saintsrowmods dot com forums, it was stated to destroy the car this way as shown in the video, while avoiding fire effects within the burning city. I tried that over and over (destroying the car after chasing for a while and going outside the burning city) and it still did not work. However, the best results came when I did this during in-game daytime (nighttime never worked), and even with screwing up my throws twice (as seen in vid), I was able to cause explosion effects that still allowed the final cut-scene to load and the mission to complete.

Apparently the trick is to destroy the car quickly, but not too fast (as doing it immediately would also cause crashes). Hopefully this will work for you that are stuck on finishing this mission.
