On 8/12/22 - El Mirage Police arrested a man who allegedly tried to enter an elementary school. Three parents, including one who had a gun, were also arrested by police after a confrontation with officers. The incident began when 911 was called of a suspicious man trying to get into the school. School administrators immediately placed the campus on lockdown. As officers arrived, police say the suspect fled from them. Nearby law enforcement agencies quickly responded and began searching the school and surrounding areas.
Parents started showing up after receiving calls from their kids. Officers told parents they wouldn’t be let in the school. This is when some parents became confrontational with police, with some saying they were going to come in to protect their kids. The situation escalated, and three parents were arrested. Police confirmed one of the parents taken into custody had a gun.

Do we see how this can became dangerous? After the LE response in Uvalde who can blame these parents? Showing up to get there kids after a 911 call had been made. I personally can’t blame them. We are OBJECTIVELY looking at this situation.
Active shooter calls/situations, even 911 potential active shooter calls, are comprised of vague information, multiple agency response, etc. Meaning when LE arrives the number one mission is to stop the killing or potential killing.
Painting A Picture:
You have multiple cops from multiple agencies close in on one location looking for a bad person with vague information. Now add multiple unconfirmed adults/parents (some armed) coming to gain access into a school to get their kid(s). Do we see how this can go sideways?
Uvalde set a precedence, to the public, that LE isn’t going to protect or save your kids. That precedence added new variables to responding LE. Understand that Uvalde is NOT how LE handles these types of situations, there are been many situations where LE responds and stop the killing, sometimes before it even starts.
