The Alchemist

I have been meaning to read 'The Alchemist' by Paul Coelho for many years, and finally purchased a copy last week.

Unfortunately, the book is not, as I had hoped, a guide to alchemy, and by the end of the book I came to the conclusion that Santiago should have stayed where he was, and this idea of a 'grand legend' that people should pursue in life is just a recipe for disappointment.
