On Aug. 15, 1969, the Woodstock Music and Art Fair opened in upstate New York. The counterculture came together for Woodstock, the largest rock concert of the Sixties. Among the acts at the three-day festival: Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Who, The Grateful Dead, and Crosby Stills Nash and Young.
