Canada: Federal govt. increasing supports for nurses in remote communities – August 16, 2022

In a virtual news conference, Patty Hajdu (minister of Indigenous services) announces that the federal government and the union representing health-care workers with Indigenous Services Canada have reached an agreement to increase recruitment and retention allowances for nurses in remote and isolated communities. Joining the minister for the announcement are Mona Fortier (president of the Treasury Board), Jennifer Carr (president of the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada), and Leila Gillis (deputy chief nursing officer at Indigenous Services Canada).
