The 1911 is known as one of the greatest designs in firearms history and Rock Island Armory is known for producing affordable variants of the gun. Typically, you find the 1911 chambered in .45 ACP but in the case of the one we’re looking at today it’s chambered in 9mm. There are a few reasons why you might want to break the mold of .45 ACP and switch to 9mm 1911:

- 9mm is the cheaper training option

- More manageable recoil, better for beginners

This model has the fixed front sight with the dovetail rear. It has the wood beveled grips which make for faster reload times. You can find 1911’s which are often 3-4 times the price or higher. Here Rock Island offers a comparable model at a fraction of the cost. Not only are you saving money by shooting 9mm, you’re saving big on the gun itself!
