Fried milk is a Chinese dessert/snack that I have eaten countless of at dinners and banquets. However, they are typically deep fried and likely unhealthy when you have too many of them. Well, here's my air fryer recipe for some guilt-free indulgence!

WRITTEN RECIPE:
➜ Ingredients:
Filling:
30g sugar
3 tbsp corn starch
1 cup milk
1/8 tsp salt, optional

Coating:
1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 large egg, beaten
Cooking oil spray

➜ Instructions:
1) Pour filling ingredients into a small pot, then immediately stir on low heat until the milk thickens with a smooth and creamy consistency
2) Line a small square or rectangular dish with parchment paper or coat it with a thin layer of oil, then pour the mixture into the dish
3) Allow the mixture to cool, then cover and freeze for 2 hours
4) Shortly before removing the milk from the freezer, transfer the panko, flour and beaten egg in 3 separate bowls
5) Carefully remove the milk out of the dish and onto a cutting board. Cut 8 equal pieces out of the entire block of milk
6) With each piece of milk, coat them thoroughly in the flour, followed by the egg then the panko. Transfer them onto a plate until all the pieces are coated evenly throughout
7) Spray a thin layer of oil into the air fryer basket. Transfer the 8 milk pieces into the basket, ensuring they do not overlap or are placed too close together, then spray the surface of the milk with a light coating of cooking oil
8) Air fry at 320°F for 10 minutes, flipping halfway. Ensure the other side is also coated with a thin coating of cooking oil. (Keep in mind that times and temperatures may vary depending on the make and model of your air fryer. Please adjust accordingly)
9) Plate and enjoy!
