China has been committing human rights violations against the Muslim Uighurs population in the Xinjiang province of China. It only more recently came back to light upon the release of Disney's live-action Mulan when, in the credits, Disney thanked a number of government entities in Xinjiang, including the public security bureau in the city of Turpan and the "publicity department of CPC Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomy Region Committee".
