EMF meter reading under High Voltage lines

I walked under the high voltage power lines with my meter. What I have found is distance from source is critical. During he day levels are higher, both background and source. My neighborhood has all underground power distribution. Under the sidewalks in certain areas the readings are high but not like these lines. You don't want to live near the big metal towers. Power lines on wooden poles seems much lower. Under trees background is noticeably lower.
