EATEN ALIVE 1976 (aka these various titles: Death Trap, Starlight Slaughter, Horror Hotel) - A psychotic redneck, ably played by Neville Brand, owns a dilapidated hotel in the rural East Texas swamplands. He kills various people who upset him, then feeds them to a rather large alligator he keeps as a pet in the swamp by his hotel.

Loosely based on the story of Joe Ball (known as the Bluebeard from South Texas or the Alligator Man) who owned a bar with a live alligator attraction during the 1930s in Elmendorf, Texas. During this time, Ball murdered several women. It was suspected he disposed of his victims by feeding them to his pet alligators. He shot himself when police came to question him.
