3 of 6 turbines offline following shelling at Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant

Russian MoD said: "As a result of regular AFU shelling of Kakhovskaya HPP with US-made HIMARS MLRS, in particular on August 12, 2022, three of the six turbines of the hydropower plant are shut down. The facility is operating in pre-emergency mode. Disruptions to the power generation and water discharge systems could fail the combined energy system and negatively affect the cooling of Zaporizhzhya NPP reactors, which would not only disrupt electricity supplies, including to the territory temporarily under Ukrainian control, but also lead to an environmental disaster in the region."
