Robert's band Cosmic Spin is a duo. But their Gilding Lilies EP has been hailed for its full, organic, live band sound. How is that possible when Robert plays all the guitar and bass parts?

The key to a full band sound is in the arrangements and layers of guitar (and other instruments) that add texture and drama to the song — and keep the listener surprised and engaged until each song ends.

In this video, Robert dives deep on Cosmic Spin's version of The Golden Age, a cover of Beck's classic song from Sea Change (1992). He layers 5 different guitars on 7 tracks to create a gorgeous soundscape that lifts and supports the song's featured vocals.
