Another day - another trip. Again, driving from Seattle to Mount Rainier National Park which is 64 miles (1 hour and 45 minutes) from the city. Todays journey is to take Crystal Lakes Trail. We hiked through dense forest and crossed an avalanche slope with view of Mt. Rainier and the White River Valley. From there, the trail ascends through forest to Lower Crystal Lake. It then took us to Upper Crystal Lake, which is surrounded by subalpine meadows. The hike to Upper Crystal Lake is 3 miles and to the Crystal Peak is 3.8 miles, and it will take you about 3 hours to get to the peak of the mountain if you love taking pictures as we do, and about 2-3 hours to get down.

Tip: If you go there on weekends, leave the house early in the morning, or go during the week. Bring the sunscreen and bug spray, because there is an insane amount of bugs at the top, they won’t leave you alone even for a minute.

After our hike we had only one stop by the river, not far from the trail we went on, about 10 minutes down the road. And then we took the same road to back home to Seattle.

На заметку: Если планируешь поехать на выходных, то советуем выезжать рано утром или если получится, то лучше ехать в будние дни. Не забудь крем от солнца и спрей от комаров, потому что на вершине горы невыносимое количество насекомых и они не оставят тебя в покое ни на минуту.

После нашей прогулки мы поехали обратно в Сиэтл по той же дороге и остановились только один раз возле реки, примерно в 10 минутах от начала тропы, где мы начали наш поход.
