Following the trail of the Nez Perce in southwestern Montana we visit Gibbon's Pass, where you can stand on the ground where trappers, traders, explorers, warriors, chiefs and soldiers of our past all walked and made the unforgettable history of our nation. We tell part the heart-wrenching story of Chief Joseph and his band of indians (men, women and children), as they tried to escape from the soldiers that were pursuing them relentlessly across early Montana. This is a wonderful area to visit and the beauty abounds in mountain vistas and deep, dark forests. There is abundant camping in the area for RVs of all types in commercial campgrounds, National Forest campgrounds and dispersed camping (boondocking). There's also ghost towns nearby such as Coolidge and Bannack as well as LOTS of places to fish!
