Conservatives have achieved their long-term goal of overturning Roe v Wade. So why aren't they celebrating in the streets? Is it because they know how unpopular it is?

I'm 20. so over my lifetime the pro-life movement and the politicians in you know the aggressively pro-life politicians have been so well aggressive. And you know they're killing millions. This is genocide. And I'm wondering if that's so genuine why aren't we seeing more dancing in the street right now? Why don't we think that it's more of trying to appear moderate for midterms? Or that really there was just a lack of you know any sort of genuine care in the first place and they're just appealing to their base like they are the NRA? Hi, Ari. So I guess my thought on that is I think the latter option that you provided is a little closer to the truth. I do think they're genuine about it. But the only way for them to sell this is for them to hide the true nature of the brutality of what they are actually trying to achieve and what they have achieved. as you know they're constantly downplaying it. Brett Kavanaugh before the supreme court was saying hey it's settled law right? during his hearings to get confirmed. They've they understand strategically that because 70 of the country is in favor of abortion access they have to hide the ball until it's the time to strike. and then they'll come out of the grass and they'll strike really quickly. so that's my impression of their strategy. Go on sam. I think also what's interesting though is that it's not only the politicians themselves the career politicians but I think it shows that these groups like a march for life also have a strategic component and. without a doubt. and are I would say. that's been so camouflaged. well from their perspective too their goal is not to not end with overturned roe v wade. they want a federal abortion ban. and I would argue that's not also where they want to stop too. I think that they want to come for contraceptives as well. but they want a federal abortion ban. and so I think they probably you know I think for them it was sort of like you know to use the sports metaphor. they got through the conference championship and now they're headed to the super bowl. and then so they're going to celebrate very quickly but they also want to make sure that they keep their heads straight for the super bowl. and the super bowl for them is the federal abortion ban. and so they got to work methodically and get these state by state. They have 26 states that are more low-hanging fruit for them in terms of the ban.
