China now has many more world class research universities compared to 40 years ago. When I left Hong Kong in 1973, there were 3 universities, today there are 8 top ranking universities. When I entered UH TIM School in 1974 headed by Dr. Edward M Barnet and later by Dr. Chuck Yim Gee, the school sat on the top of the world. Today the same UH TIM become a no name school in Asia and US. When Dean Gee passed away in 2019, the School lost its independence. A slap on Dean Gee face after he bequest 1 million dollars to UH TIM School. Today, hospitality school in Hong Kong, China and Singapore are training managers.
