In 1971, the San Diego Rockets moved to Houston, where they changed their name to Houston Rockets, and the Golden State Warriors moved to California, where they changed their name to Golden State Warriors because of the state's nickname. In 1972, the Cincinnati Royals were renamed the Kansas city-omaha Kings. The Lakers set the longest winning streak in NBA history (33) .
