What is the big deal about the third Beis Hamikdash anyway??

We all pray for the third Beis Hamikdash (Temple) multiple times every day, surely it is something we should want. But Why??

Once we understand the role and function of the Temples in general, and then the entirely unique position of the third Temple in particular, it becomes obvious.
