After shaping the sheet metal to create the front section of the bonnet, we are now focused on making the center section of the bonnet. We start by taking off the flexible shape pattern, cutting a piece of sheet metal blank slightly larger than what the patter asks for. Wray focuses on shrinking the perimeter of the metal with his gathering tool. Then stretching the center section with our shrinking facilitator and our delrin hammer for the gross development of the shape to match the flexible shape patter. Once he has the desired area value he takes the panel to the English Wheel to smooth it out and stretch the sheet metal to fit perfectly with the F.S.P. This video was too long so we again had to cut it into a few parts.
