NEWS UPDATE: California USAR Teams Deploy to Hurricane Dorian

As Hurricane Dorian veered towards the East Coast, California deployed five Urban Search and Research Task Forces (Menlo Park, Sacramento, Oakland, Los Angeles and San Diego) and two Water Rescue Teams (Los Angeles and Orange County) to assist with response efforts. Each task force consists of 35 highly-trained search and rescue specialists, including K-9s and medical personnel. Cal OES also deployed an assistant chief from its Special Operations Unit for coordination and to act as a state agency representative.
