'He is alive': Gov. Hochul says Rushdie alive after attack

New York governor Kathy Hochul on Friday (August 12) said novelist Salman Rushdie, who was attacked on stage at an event in New York and suffered an apparent stab wound to the neck, is alive and being treated at an area hospital.
